Previously known as a “Physical” or “Annual Check-Up”, it is now referred to as a Preventive Health Visit or PERIODIC Health Visit, to reflect that it doesn’t need to occur annually and the focus is on prevention. This appointment type is for adults 50 years of age and older. Your physician will review your health history, discuss and order preventive screening tests you are due for, and review and give immunizations you are eligible for. As you can see there is a lot to review at these appointments, if you have any symptoms or new health concerns, you should NOT book this type of appointment.
